At present, Orca Bay Images is primarily a sports photography service. As of September 2008 we offer portrait service. As always,
we're ready and able to photograph a broad variety of other events.
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
There's an old adage in sports photography: "Know the sport you're photographing." Over the decades, Bob has participated in a broad variety of sports, including
wrestling, football, martial arts, SCUBA diving, fencing, mountaineering, skydiving and hang-gliding. Vocationally, he served as an aviation electronics ("avionics")
specialist in the Air Force. As a civilian he worked in the computer-networking field for roughly twenty years. His breadth of sports and professional/technical experience
allows him to better handle whatever photo assignments come his way. He has a personable style that quickly fosters trust among the athletes and models he
photographs, and an open, professional demeanor that frequently results in uncommon access to teams, venues and events.
When the job requires additional staffing, Orca Bay Images can draw from a larger network of photographic talent in the immediate area and beyond.
SPORTS
Our sports photography ranges from photojournalistic game action (outdoor, indoor, night, any weather conditions) to posed team and individual shots complete with
graphic effects. In contrast to many of our competition, whenever possible in sports we use ambient light instead of flash; this often requires more work to get the image,
but it results in a more natural portrayal of the event. It's also safer for the athletes, since flash can distract or even temporarily blind athletes in the middle of play.
We do our best to cover major tournaments around central California and preschedule fair coverage to all high schools in the San Joaquin region in a variety of sports,
but we always welcome invitations to specific games or events at any scholastic level, whether sanctioned by school or private league. We're open to any event for any
age, from Pee-Wee football to all-ages fun-runs to seniors swim meets.
PORTRAITS
Senior portraits, family, children, pets, professional portfolios, engagement portraits and newspaper announcements, boudoir. Outdoor or indoor. We can easily bring a
portable studio to your home or office for no additional charge.
EVENTS
We cover any and all non-sporting events except weddings. These events may include (but are not limited to): family gatherings, company parties, corporate board
meetings, retail grand openings, school science fairs, graduations.
TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATION
We can provide the illustrations for your company's technical documentation or employee manuals.
PUBLIC OR PRIVATE CHANNELS FOR VIEWING AND PURCHASE
Most game and public event photos are posted on www.OrcaBayImages.com's PhotoReflect storefront for anyone to view and purchase. And if the customer desires a
private event to be posted so that relatives around the country can easily view and purchase prints, we can post the images online but with password protection so that
only family and friends may view and purchase. On request, we can provide even more discreet delivery.
